| Northern Sydney Youth Health Promotion Team |
The Northern Sydney Youth Health Promotion Team promotes the health and well being of young people in the Northern Sydney area, with a focus on addressing youth health issues related to tobacco, alcohol and obesity.
The team does this by training and mentoring young people in a Youth Consultant role. There are around eight Youth Consultants aged between 14-21 years old representing all local government areas across the Northern Sydney area.
Under the supervision of a coordinator, the team runs workshops and consultations at high schools, presents on youth health issues to community organisations (eg businesses, police), promotes youth health issues through a variety of media and represents youth on Northern Sydney Central Coast Health committees and partnerships.
There are 2 major ways that the team promotes youth health issues:
- Youth website: In partnership with North Sydney Council, young people and service providers the Youth Consultants sustain and promote the www.Youthsource.org website (currently under major reconstruction).
- 'I-health' newsletter: A newsletter that deals with youth health issues including major Health Promotion issues like alcohol, tobacco and obesity.

| Urban Planning 4 Health |
It is not easy to respond to proposed Development Applications and other relevant plans in a timely way, yet most urban & land use planning decisions and policies have impacts on human health. Health Promotion started the Urban Planning 4 Health group as a strategy to help address the issue.
One of the outcomes has been the development the UP4Health Guidelines to assist Population Health staff to critically assess and respond constructively to Council/State/Regional development proposals and advocate for planning and design attributes that create supportive environments for an active, healthy lifestyle across the community.
