RNSH Volunteers enjoy their best year EVER!
For more than 40 years the Royal North Shore Hospital Floral & Services Voluntary Committee has operated the Flower and Gift shop in the main foyer of the Hospital.
All profits go to RNSH and last year the committee has had their best year ever, donating a whopping $170,633 to buy medical equipment and patient amenities for one of Sydney’s largest teaching hospitals.
The shop is open 365 days a year and is staffed entirely by volunteers. They sell newspapers, magazines, books, confectionery, flowers, cards, gifts, soft toys, baby clothes and chemist items.
“Volunteers are urgently needed to help the committee have another outstanding year,” says President, Anne Green.
“We welcome both men and women from teenagers through to those in their 90’s.
“You can choose when and how often you volunteer. At the moment we need people in particular for weekends and Wednesdays. Shifts can be whole day, half day, weekly, fortnightly or monthly - whatever suits you best.”
Volunteers can look forward to a warm welcome, friendships, learning new skills and playing an active and well-regarded role in the busy life of the hospital.
Best of all, you will come to ‘work’ knowing you are contributing to the health and well-being of your community.
There’s no better feeling!
Interested? We hope so. Please call Michelle Smith, Volunteer Co-ordinator at Royal North Shore Hospital, on 9926 8980.
We hope to see you at RNSH soon.
