Home and Community Care (HACC) Access Project
The Northern Sydney region of the Home and Community Care Services (HACC) has produced a ‘Consumer and Carer Handbook’ detailing support services available to help older people and people with disabilities, live independently.
“Independence is an important part of our health and happiness.” Says Grace Chan of Northern Sydney Central Coast Health Service Multicultural Health Service. “Most people want to live independently for as long as possible and this service helps them to do so”
Some of the services that HACC provides include:
• Food Services
• Interpreters
• Domestic Assistance
• Personal Care
• Home Maintenance and Modification
• Gardening and Lawn Mowing
• Community Transport
• Dementia Services
• Respite Care
• Pediatry
• Speech Therapy
• Social Support Service
• Carers Support
The free and easy to read handbook is available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, Croatian, Farsi, Greek, Italian, Korean, Serbian and Spanish.
