Pink Ladies donate $200,000 to RNSH patients

The RNSH Pink Ladies have declared an extraordinary result for the past financial year. Their consistent hard work has resulted in a donation of $200,000 to the hospital to benefit north shore patients.

At their Annual General Meeting, Friday 1 August, the Pink Ladies will proudly distribute the raised funds to nurses and doctors from wards and departments throughout the hospital.

The 51st Annual General Meeting and Cheque Presentation will be held in the Norman Nock Lecture Theatre, Royal North Shore Hospital at 10.30 am with VIP guest speaker Lynnette Dalton, CEO Volunteering Australia.

Funds raised by the Pink Ladies are used to purchase a range of medical equipment and other patient amenities.

This year the list includes two dialysis chairs, a state of the art Bladder Scanner and a four year membership to the Delta Purina Pet Partners Program. This Delta Program brings specially chosen dogs (and their owners) to visit patients twice a week. The dogs bring smiles, companionship and therapeutic benefits to patients, especially those in hospital for long periods of time.

“We’ve been looking forward to presenting these funds to the hospital all year,” said Mrs Joy Stephen, Pink Ladies’ President.

“We try to make the money go as far as possible and this year we have been able to give funding to 50 different wards and departments.”

“To see the smiles on people’s faces and the sincere gratitude is amazing.”

The Pink Ladies raise money through a variety of events throughout the year including the Annual Raffle, monthly market days and their famous BBQ’s.

This wonderful result is possible through continued community support and the dedication of all the volunteers. RNSH, its staff and patients, say THANKS!

Photos and Interviews will be available on Friday 1st August at the conclusion of the AGM & Cheque Presentation at approx. 12 noon.

Location: Norman Nock Lecture Theatre, Kolling Building,

Royal North Shore Hospital, St Leonards NSW 2065.
