Ryde Hospital was established in 1934 and provides both inpatient and community services. Acute services include emergency, elective surgery, day surgery, maternity, orthopaedics, cardiac and intensive care. Non-acute inpatient services include aged care and rehabilitation, drug and alcohol and mental health. 374 | Figures from the 2003-2004 financial year. Future Directions - More than $250,000 has been allocated to the diabetes service enabling employment of five new staff members. These funds can deliver an endocrinologist, receptionist, podiatrist, dietitian and diabetes educator in addition to the existing clinical nurse consultant.
