OverviewManly Hospital together with Mona Vale hospital forms the Northern Beaches Health Service. Manly Hospital and its community health services have served the Manly and Warringah local government areas since 1896. This hospital provides acute care services including critical care, emergency medicine, obstetric, medical, psychiatric, surgical and orthopaedic services. Non-acute services include oncology, aged care rehabilitation, drug and alcohol services, stroke management, cardiac rehabilitation and podiatry. Future Directions for the Northern Beaches Health Service - The Northern Beaches Health Panel (community groups, consumers,health professionals) met in November to discuss an integrated network of maternity and intensive care services across the northern beaches.
- Implementation working groups have now been formed.
- In April NSW Health Minister, Morris Iemma, announced that site analysis identified Warringah Council Civic Centre site as the most suitable option for Manly Hospital's relocation. NSH continues to work closely with local government and the community on the relocation of Manly Hospital. The State Budget allocated $500,000 to progress the work.
