Overview

Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the Central Coast Community.

The current redevelopment of Gosford Hospital will include the following new facilities: Emergency Department, Medical and Surgical Wards,Outpatient Clinics, ten Operating Theatres, production kitchen and education facilities. It will also include the establishment of a Peri-operative Service and an enhanced Paediatric Unit.

Future Directions

  • To implement an Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) ward.
  • To plan,budget and commission activities for the Health
  • Access Plan in partnership with the Division of Capital Development & Asset Management.
  • To improve multidisciplinary care planning and continuity of care for women with identified obstetric risks or psychosocial vulnerabilities.
  • To develop a pathway supporting trauma research and to expand the Trauma Service to provide increased support for clinicians.
  • To improve cardiac rehabilitation for indigenous people on the Central Coast
  • To participate in the NSW Health Access Block Improvement Program.
