Over the years, our community has maintained a strong partnership with the hospital continuing to support us with donations of time, effort and money. This support has enabled us to continue develop and maintain the excellent services we provide.

Local community support

The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is extremely fortunate and grateful for the continuing support from local service clubs and other community based organisations providing practical support, for example volunteering to manage various stalls at our fundraising events, or to holding special events for the hospital to purchase specified medical equipment.

Re-development of facilities

As new developments and services are planned appeals may help to raise funds to provide for new medical equipment.

Hospital Appeals

The hospital conducts quarterly appeals to our community for the purchase of essential medical equipment. Please call 02 9477 9823 if you wish to receive our appeals. Or alternatively refer to our donation form.

Donor Relations

Our donors are very important to us. Our community has been supporting the hospital for over seventy years and have contributed to the development of facilities, research, education and medical equipment.

The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service is committed to keeping all our supporters informed of how their gifts are being used and to nurturing our relationships with them as valued friends of the hospital.

The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service is held in high regard and is fortunate to enjoy broad on-going community support.

Periodic Donations

One of the most effective ways you can help is to make a donation. You can mail your donation to:

Or, telephone your credit card donation to the hospital on 9477 9823. All donations over $2.00 are tax-deductible.

By making a periodic donation you can make a significant contribution to the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. Your donation may go towards a department/ Unit.

You simply need to write to us, stating how much you would like to donate on a regular basis, the department/unit you would like your donations to be directed and to include your credit card details and expiry date.

In Memoriam Donations or Gifts

Donations in memory of a loved one are a lasting way of honouring a relative, friend or colleague. Gifting is a lovely way of remembering. Write to the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, Fundraising Department advising whose memory you are honouring and how you would like your donation to be directed. Should you wish the next of kin to be informed of your gift please advise us when you make your donation.

Donating a lasting gift

A bequest is a lasting gift of support to the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital made through the provisions of your Will. Lasting gifts are held in high esteem at the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, as significant recognition of the close and important bonds that exist between hospital and individual. How can you help?

During times of unexpected illness or accidents involving you or your family, it is a wonderful reassurance to know that your local Hospital is equipped with the latest technology, equipment and expert caring staff. While we are constantly committed to looking for new ways to improve our services, the reality is that often there are not enough funds to support our work.

We need the support of our friends to continue our vital work and as a loyal friend and supporter of the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, we hope you will consider including your local hospital in your Will.

Making Your Will:
Everyone should make a Will ensuring your estate can be distributed in accordance with your wishes.
Remember the following guidelines when making your Will:

• List all possessions, including real estate, personal possessions, shares and insurance.
• Identify people and charities you would like to benefit from your Will.
• Decide how you would like to distribute your property.
• Consult a qualified solicitor who will ensure that your wishes are clearly and legally stated.
• Make a point of reviewing your Will periodically or as circumstances change.

Should you wish to support the hospital:
There are a number of options you need to consider and the wording is most important. We suggest you consult your solicitor about the final form your Will should take.

Some simple ways to include the Hospital in your Will are:

• Allocating a specific amount of money to the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. This does not allow for the changing nature of your estate or for inflation. It is therefore advisable to review your Will regularly.
• Leaving a percentage of your total estate to the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service. This ensures that all beneficiaries are not affected by the changes in size of your estate or by inflation.
• After providing for family and friends you may decide to leave the residue of your estate - what is left - to Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service.
• Leaving specific items of value such as shares, property, an insurance policy, works of art, collectibles or anything of enduring value.
• Allocating your entire estate to Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service.
