This department is housed in the Maternity building Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital. Two days per week
we provide a gynaecology consultation service. We consult on a range of gynaecology issues. We also provide a monthly Polycystic Ovary Clinic.

The gynaecology outpatient department of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital
What do we do?
We provide a gynaecology consultation service two days per week. We are staffed by two staff specialist doctors, reisdent doctors and registrars,
and midwives. These specialist staff provide advice and consultations on numerous gynaecological conditions and procedures.
Services include:
- General gynaecology consultations
- Specialised clinics for colposcopies
- Uro-gynaecological consultations
- Scheduling for gynaecological and laparoscopic surgery at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital
- A Polycystic Ovary Clinic (PCO). This clinic is staffed by a specialist doctor and midwife with an interest in infertility caused by
PCO syndrome.
How you can access our service
An appointment can be made by phoning 9477 9254 or 9477 9986, between 8.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
You will need a current doctor’s referral letter and your Medicare card.
Where you can find us
From 10am on 30 November 2006 we will be on level 2 of a brand new building (building 50) on the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Campus, off
Palmerston Rd, Hornsby. Take the lifts located just inside the left-hand entrance to the
building. When you reach level 2, the antenatal clinics are located to your left as you leave the lift.
For the safety of our patients this is a secure building. There will be no access to antenatal clinics after 4.30pm
What are our hours?
The clinics currently run two days per week. The times and days may change, so it is best to enquire at the time of booking.

When you arrive
You always need to book for an appointment – this ensures we have time to review your medical history.
To streamline the service always let the clerk know you have arrived and present your Medicare card.
Waiting times vary so it is wise not to bring toddlers.

depends on how urgent your condition is. Members of clerical staff may enquire about your reason for referral – this is to ensure urgent
cases are prioritised. You may speak to the clinic co ordinator or a midwife if you wish to discuss this further.
If unable to attend an appointment please notify the clinic as soon as possible so the vacancy can be filled.
